The City series depicts the inner emptiness of modern cities through women who are integrated into urban life as anonymous beings, repeating the same routines day after day.
The way they begin their day with regularity, take their positions, and start moving like machines quietly reveals the disconnect between the functional beauty of the city and human nature. The difficulty of existing as an "individual" in a homogenized society.
Yet the way they live while still harboring something within encompasses both a critique of the city as a system and, at the same time, empathy for those who inhabit it.
An invisible void, and the presence of people seeping through it —quietly emerging at that boundary.
