By merging the world of manga—familiar to me since childhood—with my Cabinet Series, I sought to explore a new form of expression.
The interplay between realistically rendered animals and the two-dimensional manga-style backgrounds creates a visual dialogue of contrasts.
At the center stands a blue tiger, evoking memories of a famous Japanese character. It carries both nostalgia and unease, quietly questioning contemporary Japan’s visual culture and the consumption of animals as mere pets.
