Born from Chiu Kuo-Fong’s long-standing interest in the relationship between nature’s phenomena and cultural imagery, this work explores the boundless inclusiveness found within landscapes. In Eastern culture, the dragon and phoenix are auspicious mythical creatures symbolizing transformation and positive energy. By merging the imagery of the dragon emerging from river waters and the phoenix entering the mountain forests with traditional landscape elements, the artist seeks to construct a visual realm where heaven and earth merge and life flows in continuous renewal.

This is more than just a visual expression—it is a return to the spirit. For Chiu, creation is a way to seek inner balance and engage in a dialogue with the universe. The landscape carries emotional resonance, while the appearance of these mythical beings represents a transformation of the soul and the arrival of blessings.

Chiu Kuo-Fong hopes that viewers, when encountering his work, will sense a silent flow of harmony—perhaps a long-forgotten feeling of peace and hope. These creations are not mere depictions of scenery, but rather a dialogue and resonance with nature, tradition, and the contemporary world.
