Jim Harris's practice is rooted in direct observation of nature and intuition. Often painting outdoors, he draws from light, climate, and landscape as living material. For Harris, painting is a full-body, sensory act—not merely a product of thought or theory. When he paints, his works often “take over” his entire attention; intuition, hand, and heart move in unison.
In 2017, Harris was awarded a residency by the Duyverhof Foundation, granting him three years of studio resources—an opportunity that deeply impacted his artistic trajectory. His paintings are collected by corporations, the Dutch Royal House, and international collectors, testifying to the recognition of both his artistic merit and his broader appeal.
