She is immersed in deep self-reflection, self-pity, unstable emotions, and interactions with others, all of which consume her like relentless waves. For a long time, she was trapped in self-reproach, which led to profound anxiety. Ultimately, in the process of self-exploration, she reached out to the child within her heart.   Hwang Sena is one of the contemporary artists who most purely expresses personal emotions. Initially, she began painting in pursuit of her dream of becoming an artist, but the anxiety and unspoken emotions within her made it impossible for her to continue creating at one point. Over the past six years, she abandoned the path of an artist and chose a different way of life, experiencing a form of growth that involved forsaking her own self. Now, as she stands in front of the easel once again, she has transformed into a completely different artist.   Once trapped in the "Good Girl Syndrome," she bid farewell to her past self by creating a dense artistic world using only Conté crayons. Every piece she paints—whether anthropomorphic animals, twins staring into each other’s eyes, or figures embracing themselves—serves as a reflection of herself. She confronts her inner self in her art, depicting herself as figures like a rabbit in a burning forest, revealing the complex layers of her emotions.   Through Hwang Sena’s art, we gain insight into the essence of a person’s journey in search of self-meaning. Using allegorical expressions, she conveys a deep understanding of life’s significance and hope. As her inner world changes, so does her artistic style, serving as the most genuine portrayal of her evolving self.   Hwang Sena’s solo exhibition in January 2024 marks her first solo show in her artistic career. This courageous artist has faced her inner fears head-on, truthfully expressing the scars of her wounds through her art. All the works from this exhibition have been sold out, and she is steadily growing into a highly anticipated artist with her distinctive artistic language.
