Since its establishment in 1967 in Ginza, Tokyo, Whitestone Gallery has not only introduced Japanese artists to the international market but has also been dedicated to promoting the masterpieces of Japan’s important avant-garde art group, the Gutai Art Association. In 2012, the gallery founded its private museum, the Karuizawa New Art Museum, in Karuizawa.
Beginning in 2016, Whitestone expanded across major cities in Asia. In 2017, it opened its Taipei space, designed by the renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, presenting an innovative environment for contemporary art.
Whitestone Gallery has established spaces in seven cities: Tokyo, Karuizawa, Hong Kong, Taipei, Singapore, Beijing, and Seoul.
