Kawata Gallery was founded in Kobe in 1963 by its founder, Tsutomu Kawata, as a gallery specializing in modern paintings.
For more than half a century, we have taken pride in presenting timeless masterpieces, never swayed by passing trends.
Since our establishment, we have been deeply engaged in the sale of paintings through department store art divisions. In recent years, our mission has expanded to discovering and supporting emerging talents, not only by exhibiting at domestic and international art fairs, but also by helping to establish new art fairs.
