Inspired by recurring dreams and stretches of time spent in Joshua Tree National Park, <Land of Deep Shadows> brings together abstracted tree forms that blur the boundaries between flora and spirit. These towering shapes, cholla cactus, echoes of coral, part prehistoric guardian, cast long shadows across a surreal terrain rendered in complementary hues of twilight. These dreams reoccurred during a road trip across the U.S. in a repurposed school bus; this piece explores portals between waking life.
