JD-girl is a series that combines Bijin-ga (pictures of beautiful women) of Ukiyo-e with the heroine imagery of Japanese manga, pursuing minimal expression through lines and negative space.

By adding the perspective of color psychology to manga's eye-guiding techniques, panel layout, and the structure of effect lines, emotions, time, and space are depicted.

In addition to reproducing the drawing process of manga manuscripts by creating silkscreen plates from dotted (halftone) screen tones, the work also references mass-produced contemporary information consumption through elements such as incorporating fashion magazine aesthetics into the motifs and deploying the same work in different color variations.

This is a series that reinterprets the culture of Japanese manga while examining the state of society through the lens of manga's "print and consumer culture" aspects.
