The inspiration for this series comes from the artist’s childhood home, where small white tiles lined the rooftop balcony wall in neat, orderly rows. The artist sought to recreate a similar sensation through translucent, monochrome painting units—each about 15.6 × 7.2 cm and as thin and light as paper. Each “tile” is folded to form a 16-layered structure within, combining with wave-like patterns that ripple softly like a breeze over water, reflecting glimmers of sunlight. The translucent material allows color to scatter across the tile surfaces, evoking the feeling of standing beside a clear, sunlit pool—where the bright, heated air is infused with a gentle sense of cool, flowing movement.
