Nocturme

Nocturne is a dynamic and poetic abstract work that reveals the artist’s meditation on the interweaving of urban landscapes, natural elements, and inner worlds. Taking inspiration from Van Gogh’s Starry Night, Wang Jian-Wen transforms the iconic image into a distinctly contemporary visual language.

Vertical strokes suggest the silhouette of skyscrapers, while flowing lines capture the celestial whirl of the night sky. This structure echoes the swirling sky of Van Gogh’s original, yet incorporates the complex geometries of the modern metropolis.
