Valentina Conchie

Valentina Conchie (aka Vibrant Cuckoo) is a visual

artist who works primarily in painting, photography,

and collage. Valentina creates a vibrant fusion of

contemporary visuals, blending elements of folklore,

Neo-Primitivism, Naive, Psychedelic and Pop Art.

She has developed a distinctive and recognisable

visual language, characterised by her signature

retrospective female portraits. Initially inspired by

her interpretation of Kabuki masks, her central

character evolved into a vivid heroine, journeying

through various adventures and accompanied by

allegorical creatures symbolising different

phenomena, characters, or events.

Each piece Valentina creates serves as a whimsical

visual narrative—a metaphorical fable—where her

personal experiences, impressions, and emotions

intertwine with broader themes of nature,

multiculturalism, equality, and social or political

issues. These topics are explored in a playful yet

meaningful way, often incorporating elements of

satire. Inspired by ideals of positivity and

transformation, Valentina brings vibrant energy to
