Born in Kanagawa, Japan in 1988, and graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts, Graduate School of Fine Arts, in 2013. Kanno’s artworks can be described as “sculptures of light.” Through his creative process, he explores the possibilities of combining sculpture with natural phenomena, creating works through the harmonious relationship between sculpture and light, and allowing the universal beauty of nature to be absorbed into the piece.
Inspired by the ocean and swimming pools, he incorporates the phenomena of light’s reflection and transmission into the elements of his work. This is an experiment in using synthetic resin materials to evoke a presence that reminds us of nature. Take a moment to experience this “sculpture of light,” which reveals the hidden beauty within everyday life.
