- Depiction: With a delicate realistic technique, the artist observes and depicts various aspects of contemporary society through the portrayal of living organisms. In works like *The Dark Side of the Slaughterhouse* and other series, he explores issues related to technological genetic modification and the nature of life forms. In the *Urban Drifting* series, the goldfish swimming through the city symbolize the alienation of urban dwellers and the loneliness of travelers. Similar to how some films adapt real-life stories, these works allow the audience to immerse themselves more deeply. Through the actors' performances, the complexities of society are presented, along with the frustrations and challenges that ordinary people encounter in their lives. These experiences, closely tied to our own life stories, are relevant to everyone in society and could appear in our own lives or in the lives of those around us. Artist Lin Chung-Wei attempts to use anthropomorphism to metaphorically suggest that the "goldfish" in his paintings represent lonely wanderers in the city. He enlarges the imaginative space for interpretation, inviting the audience to co-create the work in their minds, thus fostering an interactive experience with the viewer.
