This piece is a fusion of two landscapes observed on a rainy day—Zhishan Rock and the riverside of Wai Shuang Creek.
I attempted to merge sound and vision through circular brushstrokes. Visually, Zhishan Rock consists mostly of sandy soil deposits, making vegetation growth difficult. As a result, clusters of unevenly distributed plants and partially exposed rocky terrain are commonly seen. Meanwhile, the nearby Wai Shuang Creek carries the rhythmic sound of water striking pebbles, reminiscent of marbles colliding. These two landscapes, despite their differences, share certain overlapping characteristics.
In this painting, I deliberately used circular brushstrokes to depict the vegetation, grasslands, and ochre-colored soil, surrounding the gray-white pebbles—capturing the visual and auditory essence of this unique environment.
