Founded in 2002, AKI Gallery has long been rooted in the promotion and cultivation of contemporary art in Taiwan. With a strong commitment to discovering and supporting emerging talents with international potential, the gallery quickly gained recognition for introducing new-generation artists and gradually established a distinctive curatorial vision and brand identity.
Since 2006, AKI Gallery has actively expanded its international presence through thematic exhibitions and cross-border collaborations. The gallery has curated a diverse range of exhibitions, including German Contemporary Art, retrospectives of photography masters such as Chang Chao-Tang and Kitai Kazuo, post-war Japanese movements such as Gutai and Mono-ha, as well as new media art. These efforts have opened up two-way dialogues with international galleries, museums, and curators, while continuously promoting Taiwanese artists in global biennials and academic exhibitions.
AKI Gallery regularly participates in major international art fairs, advancing the presence of Taiwanese artists in the collections of leading museums and renowned collectors across Europe and the United States. The gallery is committed to forging deeper connections between Taiwanese contemporary art and the global art discourse.
From 2019 to 2024, AKI Gallery initiated a new project to run a space called AKI Gallery Leipzig Prospect in Leipzig, Germany, serving as a platform to connect with the European art scene and enhance the international visibility of Taiwanese art. In 2025, AKI Gallery become one of the first Taiwanese gallery selected to exhibit at the renowned Armory Show in New York.
Today, AKI Gallery continues to strengthen its ties across the Asia-Pacific region and promote cross-cultural exchange. Through a flexible and diverse curatorial approach and a forward-looking international perspective, the gallery remains a vital cultural node in the landscape of contemporary Asian art.
