- Depiction： This work was inspired by the Vermilion Bird (Suzaku) depicted on the wall paintings of the Takamatsuzuka Tumulus in Japan. What ancient people once projected onto intangible concepts and natural phenomena has come down to us as the images of the Four Gods we recognize today. The figures preserved in these ruins may well carry with them messages from the people of antiquity, quietly speaking across the centuries.
