Symbiosis_The All-Embracing Island

In the biological world, species form complete ecosystems through mutual dependence, competition, and symbiosis. In today’s era of increasing digital reliance, people have also cultivated their time and consciousness within the virtual realm, giving rise to new symbiotic states of existence born from digital interdependence. The Symbiotic Growth series draws on observations of organisms and plants, transforming essential elements for cultivation—such as medium, space, humidity, temperature, and nutrients—into a creative vocabulary. Through these components and biomorphic imagery, the works construct an ecosystem that transcends the boundaries between the virtual and the real.

In the modern world, everyone seems to have their own vision of the universe; each individual is their own comprehensive island: independent, lonely and unique. These countless islands floating in the air form their own ecosystems, shaping the forms of creatures, archaeological legacy and the derived trajectories of experience, perception and data, creating a world of diverse species.   “The All-Embracing Island” is the universe of all phenomenons, and is also the island of Hong Kong, which is intertwined with the cultural and financial systems of East and West. In this artistic experiment, we re-integrated and composed the symbolic ideas of words and the morphological structure of organisms, and wove them into new life forms, with the aim of expressing the flow, influence and relationship between the external and the conscious world.
