Urban Drifting： The Eastern District has no Yong Fu Lou.

In the artist’s works, the goldfish becomes an observer of this world and also a symbol for any individual in the city—a traveler dwelling within this metropolis. The goldfish is a drifting creature: it has lost autonomy and can only live in a fish tank at the behest of its owner. It may swim leisurely from one corner to another, from one tank to another—much like a person drifting from one city to another. This state reminds the artist of their own experience of moving alone to a different city.

When arriving in a new environment, it is unfamiliar yet full of freshness, fueling a curiosity to explore. But when night falls and the city quiets down, following others to late‑night cafés or beautiful vantage points, the artist unexpectedly feels loneliness.
