There is a beauty that is both gentle to the eye and vast in feeling.
Ever-changing and rich, it is delicate and hard to master. It takes time to blend with pigment, soak into the paper, and reach the right moment to capture.
Not every stroke succeeds; mistiming means more effort to control its flow, diffusion, and movement. This—water—is both my greatest joy and challenge in painting.
Like water, the human heart begins pure and full of potential. Over time, some mix themselves into ideal colors, others get stained by mud. But the wise learn to cleanse themselves, remaining clear.
Through layered washes, I hope not to overwork the piece, but to evoke quiet emotions and soothe the chaos behind countless lights.
