This painting, "Clear," as its title suggests, evokes a sense of transparency and freshness. The artist chose to combine oil paint and wood, continuing her consistent medium. The solid support of the wood allows the layers of paint to be firmly fixed, while the transparent glaze of the oil paint imbues the water vapor and light with a sense of fluidity. This is the most moving transformation of the word "clear": a near-weightless atmosphere is created from the heavy material. In the painting, water and mist take center stage. The water surface occupies the majority of the lower composition, reflecting the trees and sky. However, it is not a static mirror, but rather, through delicate brushstrokes, the rhythm of ripples and flicker of light are captured. This treatment is reminiscent of the "broken ink" or "splashed color" techniques of Chinese landscape painting. The water color, through the layered immersion of color, appears natural, reflecting both the randomness and the artist's meticulously controlled rhythm. A waterfall plummets from a height, its white mist wafting through the forested mountains, echoing with the wisps of smoke to the left, seemingly drawing the entire space into a flowing breath. A closer look reveals that the artist hasn't depicted the falls in pure white, but rather employs a layering of translucent colors. This technique imbues the waterfall with a sense of weight while blending it into the surrounding verdant landscape and rock face. This approach allows the "sound" of the water to be imagined. Among the dense foliage, occasional flashes of bright red or orange appear, creating a warm pulse amidst the overall coolness, like a flame of vitality emanating from the lush green. This color scheme allows the viewer to sense warmth and vitality amidst the cool air.
