Seaside Private Dining

  • Size:80x60cm
  • Material:Acrylic on canvas
  • Year:2025
  • Depiction:
This series features a "parrot person" as an observer, traversing Earth to study human travel behaviors: taking photos at landmarks, relaxing in the pool in the afternoon, diving into the sea with their pets, dining at secret private kitchens, and even attending parties as "Mr. Ice Cream." Vacations are seen as a "pause mechanism" for civilization, a set of physical skills and social rituals to be learned. Using highly saturated color blocks, a shifting perspective, and an "edited" painting grammar, the artist disassembles leisure experiences into sequential yet discrete scenes. Humorous misinterpretations become tools for understanding civilization, while also reflecting how a visual society is reshaping the meaning of travel. The central themes revolve around relaxation and self-dialogue: this series can be seen as the parrot person's nine-day journey around Earth, a journey of learning and self-dialogue.
