Ai Miyoshi draws inspiration from language used in daily life, using vocabulary as the starting point for her work and transforming words into visual imagery. For her, visualizing language is akin to a form of translation—one that converts words into a vocabulary uniquely her own. This process of turning text into image is intuitive yet complex, but the final result must return to a state of simplicity. She also deliberately avoids turning her imagery into recognizable characters, ensuring her work doesn’t resemble cartoon figures. This allows her creations to evoke deeper resonance with the viewer.
