Zdenek Konvalina

Zdenek Konvalina was born in 1979 in Czech Republic.

His paintings have been included in group exhibitions in London, Toronto, Montreal and Houston. Before fully devoting himself to a painting practice, Konvalina accomplished a distinguished career as a ballet artist, performing and working around the world in America, Asia and Europe and winning numerous awards for his artistic achievements. His abstract paintings emphasize the process itself. Movement, be it Physical, Mental or Metaphorical plays an important role in making and thinking about these paintings. The process focuses on probing the dynamics of contrasting qualities: blurred and defined, distant and immediate, moving and still, exploration of dynamics between a variety of tools. In the end, each painting strives to tell its own story, be it a statement or just a realization of a certain chain of thoughts.
