Brian Chan

Brian Chen, born in Taipei, graduated from Shih Chien University with a degree in fashion design. He began working in fashion design nearly a decade ago since college, but the desire for creativity never ceased. Therefore, BRIAN often visited exhibitions and sought his truest self during holidays. Finally, during the COVID pandemic, when work was halted, he combined familiar materials and creative methods. After experiencing numerous failures in the creative process, he finally, by coincidence, recalled the feeling of seeing Thangka during childhood. This connected BRIAN's techniques and ideas, and he embarked on the path of fiber art creation.

Brian Chen's most unique style is the distinctive embroidery texture, created by layering fibers from dark to light, temporarily fixing them onto the fabric with an iron, and finally sewing the fibers and fabric together using a sewing machine. BRIAN's works have gained recognition from Japanese collectors and brands. In December 2022, the works were invited to be displayed long-term at the flagship store of the Japanesedesigner brand Meanswhile (ミーンズワイル) (the independent brand of a former designer from White Mountaineering).
