Born 1975, Barcelona, Spain. Lives and works in Madrid. Sergio Mora, also known as Magicomora, is a Spanish artist celebrated for his vibrant fusion of pop culture, magical realism, and surrealist traditions. His multidisciplinary practice spans painting, ceramics, illustration, and large-scale murals, creating a fantastical world filled with astronauts, luchadores, cartoon relics, and Spanish folklore.
Mora’s iconic visual language is playful yet sharp, often recontextualizing everyday symbols—such as traditional Spanish water jugs or religious motifs—into surreal narratives that challenge cultural hierarchies. Notable collaborations include GUCCI, Lexus, designer Philippe Starck, and chef José Andrés. In 2016, he won a Latin Grammy for Best Album Packaging, and in 2019, was named one of the world’s top 100 illustrators by TASCHEN.
With exhibitions in Barcelona, Paris, Milan, New York, and Mexico City, Mora’s works are highly recognizable, collectible, and uniquely positioned at the intersection of contemporary art, design, and global pop iconography.
