Luca De Angelis was born in 1980 in San Benedetto del Tronto, and currently lives and works in Milan. He graduated in Painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Urbino in 2005 and later completed a Biennium in Visual Arts at the same institution. In 2006, he participated in an Erasmus exchange program at the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia.
Luca De Angelis’s work, rooted in figuration, rejects linear narrative. His figures and settings emerge as fleeting manifestations of memory. Drawing inspiration from Picasso’s early periods and classical painters like Bellini and Crivelli, he creates timeless yet unsettling scenes. Central to his practice is the interplay between figure and landscape, fostering ambiguous atmospheres open to multiple interpretations.
