Leroy LEE

Leroy LEE Born in Taiwan in 1969, he graduated from the Department of Fine Arts (Oil Painting), Chinese Culture University in 1993, and later studied art and design at the University of California, Riverside in 1997. He apprenticed under renowned classical painter and teacher David Leffel.

LEE’s abstract paintings reflect on the connection between humanity, the earth, and the flow of time and space. Using subdued tones and expressive brushwork, his works balance form and formlessness, evoking the lightness of ink painting while embracing the material richness of oil. Within the shifting textures, light and rhythm suggest vast landscapes of mountains, seas, and skies. His canvases hold a poetic tension between stability and transformation, capturing a sense of boundless space and the passage of time.
