My works explore both the visible and invisible abstract elements in life—be it a principle, relationship, thought process, debate, motion, sensation, reflection, intuition, phrase, topic, or foresight. These ideas are meticulously processed in my mind and, once triggered, naturally form visual impressions that drive me to express them through various media.
This transformation becomes my personal ritual, through which I find clarity and peace. I work primarily in oil and mixed media on canvas, as well as ink and paper-based works. Abstract expression forms the core of my practice.
Kai-Hsing Huang (b. 1984, Taipei, Taiwan) graduated with a B.A. in Landscape Design from Fu Jen Catholic University in 2007 before moving to the Netherlands for further studies. She earned her MA in Public Space Design from HKU Utrecht School of the Arts in 2009 and later attended the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture as a guest student in Landscape Architecture in 2011.
As a full-time artist and member of several professional associations in Taiwan, including the Taipei Artists Union and the Women Artists Association, Huang has presented her work in solo and group exhibitions across Taiwan, Europe, North America, and Asia.
Her first international solo show Lucky Star was held in 2013 at The Brick Lane Gallery in London. Her piece Wanderer was selected for the prestigious Salon d’Automne in Paris in 2014.
Her work, characterized by abstract forms, vivid colors, and layered meanings, is deeply rooted in poetic and philosophical inquiry. As noted by curators and critics, Huang is an artist of quiet demeanor but bold creativity—her work is emotionally resonant, filled with mystery, intuition, and energy.
