Ji Eun Lee (b.1991, South Korea)
BFA, Department of Fine Arts (Western Painting), Dong-A University, Busan
Ji Eun Lee’s practice explores the origins of emotion and memory through painting. Rooted in childhood memories of absence and longing, her work meditates on blue as a metaphor for water, nature, and amniotic fluid, spaces of beginning, protection, and rebirth. Her canvases often feature seas and plants, evoking both solitude and sanctuary, while reflecting a search for affection, healing, and identity.
Through painting, Lee reconstructs emotions that words cannot contain. Calmness and anxiety, love and fear, longing and solace coexist within her compositions. For her, art is not only beauty but a structural language of survival, an inner garden where emotion takes form, and where the self finds restoration.
