LEE Jaeyual is a Korean contemporary artist specializing in the reinterpretation of traditional jingyeong sansuhwa (true-view landscape painting). Building upon his academic foundation in Korean painting, he has developed a signature body of work—Sansoomong—that merges the philosophical essence of classical East Asian landscape art with the expressive freedom of modern techniques. Utilizing jangji (Korean mulberry paper) and acrylic, he explores the coexistence of formality and fantasy. His works are notable for blending Eastern brushwork with Western compositional sensibilities, resulting in a genre-bending visual language that bridges cultural and temporal boundaries.
