Hsu Hui-Chih (許悔之), born in 1966 in Taoyuan, Taiwan.
Rooted in literature, Hsu’s artistic practice centers on the visual exploration of Chinese characters. Blending the sensitivity of a poet with the rationality of a creator, his works reflect both his meditative experience of transcribing Buddhist scriptures and his contemplation of writing as a spiritual act. Using ink as the core medium—combined with mineral pigments, acrylics, and other materials—Hsu creates paintings that embody the literati spirit, conveying a profound sense of introspection and contemporary awareness.
