Guang-Chi Chang reflects on the relationship between creation and painting, beginning with sketching to explore the transition from literal to pictorial representation. He seeks to remove semiotic representation, rejecting sensual connections and the outline of objects, making painting a medium of perception. The exhibition will present a purely painterly display of grouped and juxtaposed works. The elements of the painting compete with each other, and the traces of the painting resemble the artist's depiction of time. The accumulation of brushstrokes and objects becomes the spiritual presence of the painting. Layers of pigments and pigments are applied, creating a transparent texture of light and shadow, like the footprints of time.
