Gang-Yi WU (Miya), Master of Fine Arts, Institute of Fine Arts, Normal University (1998), Doctor of Fine Arts, Central Academy of Fine Arts (2002), a member of the Chinese Painting Society of the Republic of China, and a special calligrapher for United Daily News, and an appraiser of Chinese calligraphy and painting.
Miya is good at oil painting, calligraphy and ink painting. He summarizes his creations into eight words: "light and dark, cold and warm, yin and yang, virtual and real". "Light and shade, cold and warm" are the key points of Western painting, which objectively express the shape and color of objects and belong to rational interpretation; "Yin and Yang, virtuality and reality" are the essence of Chinese art, which reconciles sensibility and rationality, compromises subjectivity and objectivity, and moves towards the goal of integrating Chinese and Western cultures.
