Elke Foltz was born in 1990 in Lagny-sur-Marne, France, currently based in Berlin, Germany. She received a Bachelor's degree in Applied Arts and Graphic Design from the University of Toulouse II, France.
Her work explores the search for balance and the connections between individuals. She combines vivid colors inspired by nature with organic shapes, allowing the elements to overlap or disrupt one another, creating abstract compositions that resemble an ecosystem. Foltz draws inspiration from fleeting moments and a desire for escape, resulting in pieces that evoke abstract landscapes. She recreates the colors of her surroundings using ink, oil, and pigments on canvas, balancing spontaneous impulses—expressed through circular compositions and vivid colors—with the tranquility of blank spaces. Foltz has participated in the Blank 100 art residency and her work was also featured in a November 2024 art auction at Weserhalle.
