Eiji Miwa makes it a rule to “draw it as you see it”. When we visually recognize an object, we do so by structuring a consistent framework of the thing, like piecing narrow visions together. Miwa presents this process of visual segmentation and reconstruction in his pictures. In this work, several seconds of a footage (the motif) is presented through him as an output on a canvas. Note the impressive colors and the relationship of silhouettes and shapes attributed to the colors. The light hue and brushwork fill the work with unique vitality. Through examinations of the vision from scientific aspects and reference to styles.
His unique world, as if being consisted of overlapping celluloid pictures, grab the hearts of both young and old, winning the student artist numerous accolades.
