Through a delicate and realistic painting style, I depict various aspects of contemporary society by observing and representing living creatures. In series such as “The Dark Corner of the Slaughterhouse”, I explore the issues of genetic modification and life forms in the era of biotechnology. The “Urban Drifting” series features goldfish navigating cityscapes, symbolizing the alienation and solitude of urban dwellers and modern-day nomads.
Much like film or television adaptations of real-life stories, these paintings offer a sense of immersion, allowing viewers to empathize with the characters. Just as actors portray the complexities of human life, these works reflect the emotional and societal challenges that ordinary people encounter—stories that could easily happen to anyone.
Using anthropomorphism, I metaphorically cast the goldfish in my paintings as lonely wanderers in the metropolis. I intentionally leave space for interpretation, inviting viewers to co-create the narrative within their imagination. Through this interaction, I aim to build a bridge between the artwork and the audience.
