- Depiction: This painting is about inauguration—the moment when everything begins. The opening ceremony is marked by the arrival of His Holiness, the most anticipated part of the event. It starts with an inter-school march past, a display of unity and pride. Watching this scene unfold reminds me of my father’s story about the Tibetan people waiting for His Holiness’s arrival in Tawang in March 1959. He still speaks of the love, compassion, and overwhelming relief he felt when he saw the Dalai Lama arrive safely in India. Even across generations and different times, that feeling of anticipation—of waiting for His Holiness—remains the same.
