However, as blue roses do not exist in reality, they also represent mystery and the pursuit of the impossible. In the fantasy novel A Song of Ice and Fire, a mythical blue rose known as the “Winter Rose” is described as having frost-blue petals and a distinctive fragrance, blooming only in the gardens of Winterfell. It was the favorite flower of Lyanna Stark, and Prince Rhaegar Targaryen wove a crown of Winter Roses for her at the tournament at Harrenhal, naming her the "Queen of Love and Beauty." Suzan Drummen’s artwork resembles the dreamlike reflection of a blue rose in the halls of Versailles. The intricate arrangement of mirrors and gemstones evokes the luxurious embellishments of the Baroque court, while its layered symmetry echoes the harmony of music and love entwined by fate.
