In the Her Miniature Portrait series is embellished with dozens of natural freshwater pearls, incorporating traditional techniques such as mother-of-pearl, to create a semi-dimensional texture. The “Her” in the works refers to those women who once shone with wisdom and talent, but gradually disappeared with history. During the long period of patriarchal society in ancient times, the space for women to realize their potential was extremely limited, and their images and talents were mostly confined within the framework of the times. The gold-colored writing in the background of the paintings in the “Her Small Portrait” series is from the “Yutai History of Painting” or the “Yutai History of Books,” presenting a true depiction and record of the talented women of the time.
