The most well-known “Film Box Series” demonstrates his unique interpretation of nostalgia and innovation. Inspired by his nostalgia for old-time video technology and his love for modern technology, Tatsuya Yokosaka uses canvas as a base and skillfully transforms it into a simulated model box, with each lid, corner, and even the material of the paint falling down realistically and delicately. He adds hand-drawn labels, vintage stickers, and childlike graffiti to the celluloid sheets, creating a visual tension between reality and fiction and giving the work a unique contemporary context.
