- Depiction: Luo Guanhong's work often brings together different scenes and characters. The term "different" can sometimes be visual and intuitive, and at other times, it involves the displacement of cultural contexts. The artist uses this approach to manipulate and construct a blurred narrative and meaning within the work. At the same time, personal quirky tastes are subtly inserted into the pieces. This work continues from a small series in 2018 depicting people in protective suits. After several years, the series has evolved from initially presenting spectacle and isolation to becoming a reflection of the artist's observations on the atmosphere of reality. Especially during the pandemic, everything that felt real seemed to come from the images "outside the window." Now, as the entire world collectively shares an experience that feels like an aftermath, this sense of dissonance—where things seem both distant yet life must continue—feels even more pronounced to the artist. The piece appropriates and replaces scenes from a famous children's program’s utopian setting, aiming to present an uneasy, half-fake, half-real feeling. Through painting, the artist reassembles and reinterprets the world as they see it, responding to their perception of the current atmosphere of the times and everyday life.
