Yang Tenchi, born in 1967 in Penghu, was influenced by the island's natural landscape from a young age. These unique visual elements became the foundation of his artistic language. In 1999, he went to study at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, where he received rigorous traditional artistic training under the guidance of then-president Jin Shangyi and Professor Yang Feiyun. As his studies deepened, Yang gradually combined Eastern artistic concepts with Western modern techniques, exploring innovations in both form and content in his paintings. Later, he furthered his academic research at the Repin Academy of Fine Arts in Russia, an experience that led him to a deeper reflection on the expressive power and creative methods of painting, ultimately shaping his distinctive artistic style.
