Born in 1986 in Fukushima Prefecture, Japan, the artist undertook advanced studies at the University of Lisbon’s Master Glass Art and Science program as a recipient of the POLA Art Foundation’s overseas research fellowship.
Now based in Tokyo, Satoh’s practice explores themes of "existence" and the "encapsulation of time", crafting mixed-media works focused on the medium of glass. The artist integrates glass-cast objects with diverse materials, including metal, ceramics, stone, and fossils, creating evocative dialogues between temporality and materiality.
Satoh’s recent notable exhibitions include scene 03 – LIKE A PUZZLE (JILL D’ART GALLERY, 2024) and POLA MUSEUM ANNEX Exhibition: Independence and Integration (POLA MUSEUM ANNEX, Tokyo, 2023).
