Mizuguchi Kazuki (b. 1973, Tokyo) graduated from the Graduate School of Musashino Art University, specializing in Nihonga (traditional Japanese painting). Deeply versed in the essence of Japanese aesthetics, he skillfully transforms it into a rich and expressive visual language. His works often draw inspiration from symbolic elements such as water, moon, lotus, and wind, creating ethereal and mysterious scenes that reveal and conceal at the same time, aiming to capture fleeting memories.
Although his imagery appears tranquil and elegant, it subtly embodies the tension between the tangible world of the living and the intangible realm beyond. In this oscillation between existence and the ephemeral, his works reflect a uniquely Japanese sensibility — one that sheds extravagance and returns to simplicity, capturing the profound beauty of impermanence and quiet refinement.
