Born in 1988, Huang Chih Cheng holds a master’s degree in Fine Arts from Tunghai University and has been a full-time artist since 2015. Deeply influenced by his training in gouache and ink painting, Huang frequently uses metal foil as a base material, combining it with ink, cotton thread, and images to explore diverse possibilities in mixed media. His works address themes such as personal and family history, mortality, and the performance of desire.
Huang has received several accolades, including being selected by the Ministry of Culture for Art Taipei's "Made in Taiwan—MIT Young Artists Discovery" program, winning the First Prize of the 2015 Tainan New Art Award, and participating in overseas programs for contemporary Taiwanese artists organized by the TAMI Art Foundation in 2016 and 2019. In 2021, he was also a recipient of the Taiwanese Contemporary Artist Publication Project award.
